New York bans firearms in ‘vulnerable’ public areas | Abroad

A week ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a 100-year-old New York law that allowed the carrying of firearms in public only to licensed people, violated the Constitution. It prescribes that Americans have the right to carry such a weapon.

But the court also said in the ruling that carrying weapons in some “vulnerable places” could be banned, although the judges immediately warned that the label should not be used too freely. New York state is now taking advantage of the exemption for these types of areas, but firearms advocates are expected to challenge the new law in court.
