With full commitment and an injured arm, a 64-year-old saved the life of a dolphin off the coast of New York. The man rolled the helpless animal several meters from the beach into the surf. Then nature came to his aid.

Paul Crane from Nassau County is a real hero. The 64-year-old was riding his bike on the New York coast when he spotted a stranded dolphin. It was early in the morning, there were hardly any people on Jones Beach, when he suddenly saw the poor animal. It was immediately clear to him that he had to help, he told the British media portal “Jam Press”. But with a dolphin that should weigh between 140 and 180 kilograms, Paul thought, no easy task. But he did it.
In the right place at the right time: video as evidence
Crane had broken his arm a few months earlier. He’s been causing him problems ever since. That he still managed to push the animal into the sea remains a mystery to him to this day, especially since the whole operation only lasted 15 minutes. He really wanted to record it, so he positioned his cell phone on one of his shoes and started filming. The grandfather feared that if he came home without video evidence, no one would believe this story. In particular, he wanted to show his grandchildren the strong action. “I was so happy to be in the right place at the right time,” said Crane.
He gathered up all his strength and courage, pushed the animal into the water and even got some help from the waves. What impressed him most was the animal itself. It was quiet and trusted me, according to the 64-year-old: “She knew that I was a friend”.
