New Volkswagen Golf Variant and its Czech prices: So far only 2.0 TDI

So far, the new Golf station wagon offers only two versions of the 2.0 TDI turbodiesel via the published configurator. However, the range of engines will gradually expand.

We got to know the eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf a year ago, but since then the offer of the best-selling car in Europe has been gradually expanding. Sports derivatives such as petrol GTI, a diesel GTD and plug-in hybrid GTE, and a sharper GTI Clubsport is expected to arrive. Next to hatchback added a station wagon this year. And this has now revealed Czech prices through the configurator.

However, the published configurator reveals that sales of the new Volkswagen Golf Variant are just starting. At the moment, only two engines are available via the configurator, namely two power versions of the 2.0 TDI turbodiesel, tuned to 85 kW and 110 kW, respectively.

The weaker variant with 85 kW is paired with a six-level manual and is linked to the Life equipment level, in which it costs 642,900 crowns. The 110-liter two-liter then works with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and is now exclusively available in the R-Line. You can buy it for 808,900 crowns.

At the same time, Life equipment is already quite rich. Includes heated multifunction steering wheel and front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, rain sensor, parking sensors front and rear, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless functions, digital instrument panel, multimedia system with 10 “touch screen, 16” alloy wheels or six airbags. Adaptive cruise control, ambient lighting and LED headlights are also available.

The R-Line then differs primarily in its sportier appearance. The alloy wheels are 17-inch, both bumpers are specific and there are also sports seats with an integrated headrest and sports tuning of the chassis with about 15 mm reduced ground clearance.

The Volkswagen Golf Variant differs from the previously unveiled five-door hatchback not only in its more practical body, but also in its 66 mm wheelbase, which increases the space in the rear seats. The volume of the luggage compartment is 611 liters, six liters more than its predecessor.

The range of engines will then gradually expand, similarly to the hatchback, so we can expect mildhybrids 1.0 eTSI and 1.5 eTSI, as well as their conventional derivatives 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI.

The arrival of the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has already been confirmed. This alternative to the SUV is distinguished by a raised chassis and a plastic-coated body. In addition, it gets all-wheel drive as standard.
