Guangzhou, China – The new Terminal 3 (T3) at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is largely completed adn poised to substantially expand the airport’s capacity, according to photos released by xinhua on September 30, 2025. The terminal showcases innovative architectural designs incorporating local cultural elements and enduring features.
The completion of T3 marks a major milestone in Guangzhou’s infrastructure development and aims to solidify its position as a key aviation hub in southern China. The project is expected to alleviate congestion at the existing terminals and accommodate a growing number of passengers, supporting both domestic and international travel.The terminal’s design integrates elements like skylights framing mountain views and sunshades shaped like rice ears, alongside commercial areas styled in the traditional ”Qilou” architectural style, reflecting the region’s heritage. Construction continues as of September 29, 2025, with workers seen completing interior finishing.
