New Škoda Octavia in Russia: Other engines, eight-speed automatic and lower prices

Škoda is expanding its range of fourth-generation Octavia versions for the Russian market. And it is interesting how much the local offer differs from the Czech one.

The Octavia, which is also produced at the Russian plant in Nizhny Novgorod, is currently only available as a liftback in the world’s largest country. Customers have at their disposal three petrol engines, which are also interesting from the Czech point of view, and three equipment lines.

The basic unit is an atmospherically filled four-cylinder 1.6 MPI – an engine that Škoda (not only) has not offered in the Czech Republic for some time – with an output of 81 kW (110 hp) combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. The manual will arrive later.

The cheapest version of Active Plus with this motorization costs 1,473,000 rubles, which is about 429 thousand crowns. The middle equipment of Ambition Plus will cost 1,563,000 rubles (approximately 456 thousand crowns), the Style Plus version will cost 1,764,000 rubles (514 thousand CZK). With a manual five-speed transmission, the basic engine will certainly be even cheaper.

In the Czech Republic, the most currently available action model is a three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with an output of 81 kW and a manual transmission for CZK 456,900, and in the standard price list the basic version in the Active equipment can be found for CZK 493,900.
