Maria was found dead on April 8. On the same day, 112 received a signal and emergency teams and police were sent. There were traces of violence on the woman’s body, and according to the latest examinations, the death occurred after a severe craniocerebral trauma.
The man with whom the woman lived on a family basis was detained for 72 hours.
They have lived at the address since 2015 for rent together with another roommate, said the owner of the property.
According to her, they quarreled often and abused alcohol. Even the police often came to thwart their scandals. However, no reports of violence were reported to the police.
“She was a lodger here. She died the other day. She drank a lot, she was an alcoholic. Now her husband is accused of beating her. He also drank. I don’t think it’s murder. The whole neighborhood knew she was getting drunk and falling on the streets. I think she fell and hit her head. As far as I understand, forensic medicine found a cerebral hemorrhage, “said Dimitria Todorova.
The investigation into the case continues under the direction of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
