Since the start of the pandemic, 5,175 cases have been confirmed in total in the Region of Murcia. There are currently 1,307 active cases: 64 are admitted to the hospital, of which 13 are in the ICU, and 1,243 are in home isolation. In total, 2,010 people have been cured in the Region, 152 have died, and 115,599 PCR tests and 64,203 antibody tests have been performed.

Of the 133 new cases, 42 have been registered in Murcia, 16 in Cartagena, 14 in Mula, 8 in Lorca, 10 in Totana, and 7 in Torre Pacheco. The rest are positive located in various municipalities.

The Minister of Health, Manuel Villegas, today held a meeting with the parliamentary groups represented in the Regional Assembly, in which the different parties have been informed of the current epidemiological situation in the Region of Murcia.

Villegas has launched a unique and clear message of the situation, “that worries us but that is controlled” and has demanded “the commitment of all in the control of the pandemic”, in which the role of the municipalities stands out, since “thanks to their involvement and the collaboration they are providing, a more active monitoring of possible cases is carried out”.

Within this meeting it has been agreed that every Wednesday the parliamentary groups will be convened to keep them informed of the evolution of the situation, and twice a week the epidemiological update will be sent to the municipalities, so that they know each action and progress in around the control of the virus.

The counselor has insisted that “the coronavirus is a Public Health problem and that, therefore, it concerns us all”, so that “we must continue to respect prevention measures such as social distancing, hand washing and use of a mask and take it to extremes both at home, at work and at leisure “.
