In the book Brothers and Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, published this November, its author Christopher Andersen, according to the daily Mirror with a new reason why Harry and Meghan left the royal family. It is said that the queen herself should have indicated that they were not welcome.
According to Anderson, the queen should have asked for the photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their son to be removed. Until then, she always had it on the table, along with photos of other members of the royal family, including William and Kate or Prince Charles and Camilla.
Harry and Meghan noticed that their photos were missing from the table, among others, during the Queen’s Christmas speech from her study in 2019. The couple allegedly upset them. Just a few months after the broadcast, they announced that they wanted to leave the royal family and start a new life across the Atlantic.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace did not want to comment on the event mentioned in the book. “We don’t comment on books of this kind, we risk giving some form of authority or credibility with such a claim,” he told the New York Post.
