The highest authority, Mrs. World herself, ripped off the hat, stating that De Silva wasn’t Mrs. Sri Lanka may be because she is divorced. The rules state that she must be married. The Mrs. World elections have been exclusively for married couples since 1984, unlike other beauty pageants.
Coronation
That Mrs. World, Caroline Jurie, happens to be a compatriot of Mrs. Sri Lanka. In front of the eyes of high guests, audience and cameras, she immediately crowned the number two in the competition. But that coronation still seems to get a tail end.

Pushpika De Silva has told Sri Lankan media that she is going to court and that she is Mrs. Sri Lanka is because they would not be divorced. She lives separately from her husband, she says, but is still married.
Injured
In addition, after the failed beauty pageant, she had to go to a hospital in Colombo, where she said she had to undergo head treatment for injuries she sustained during the crude ‘coronation’.
