The new version of the Motorola razr has a significantly larger battery than its predecessor. Lenovo has announced the phone for the Chinese market. There is currently no question of a release in the Benelux or the rest of Europe.

The battery capacity goes from 2800mAh in the predecessor to 3500mAh in the new razr, as it appears on the product page. Charging is possible with 33W. There is room for the larger battery because the housing is wider. The phone now measures 16.7×8.0cm, compared to 16.9×7.2cm of the previous version. The phone is slightly shorter, because the characteristic chin under the screen is gone.

The screen itself is a lot bigger. It goes from a 6.2″ display in the previous version to 6.67″ in this new version. The dimensions of the screen go from 14.6 x 6.0 cm to 15.5 x 7.0 cm. That’s also because the screen ratio is different: 20:9 instead of the narrower 22:9 of the previous version. The screen on the outside is unchanged: a 2.7″ OLED panel with a 4:3 ratio and a resolution of 800×573 pixels.

This time, Lenovo has placed a high-end soc in the phone, namely a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. This includes 8GB or 12GB of Lpddr5 memory and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The camera has a 50-megapixel resolution with an area of ​​approximately 50 square millimeters, with an optical size of 1/1.5″. The aperture of the lens is f/1.9. In addition, there is an ultra wide-angle camera with a resolution of 13 megapixel with a sensor of 15 square millimeters.The front camera is located behind a hole in the screen and has a maximum resolution of 32 megapixels.

The new razr is currently only available in China. The cheapest version costs 6499 yuan, currently converted about 935 euros. Lenovo does not say if or when a release in the rest of the world will follow. Earlier razr-foldables were released in Europe and the US. Since then, many foldable phones appeared only in China.
