The new interior minister, Víctor Pérez, would make this Friday a trip to La Araucanía to address the security situation in the area, in the midst of several attacks that have been registered in the region in recent weeks, in addition to the disruption of a train in the middle of a shooting, a fact that occurred this Thursday.
After holding a meeting with the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera, it was learned that Pérez would travel to La Araucanía tomorrow to hold a meeting with the regional authorities and also with Carabineros.
Although the minister would travel to the Araucanía region as a result of the attacks, said determination was advanced in the current context, so tomorrow it will arrive in the region.
It is expected that at 7:00 p.m. the Ministry of the Interior will deliver further information.
Riot
During this Thursday a riot that affected a freight train that was passing between Pidima and Collipulli. The incident occurred at the level of the Campo Lindo sector of the Ercilla commune, affecting five wagons.
According to what was reported by Radio Bío Bío in the area, unknown persons had shot and wounded a freight train from the Pacific Railroad company.
