New Instagram feature allows you to recover deleted content

With this feature, Instagram is allowing people to keep their posts, even if they deleted them in the first place.

The new instagram feature that they just announced, will allow you to review and restore recently deleted content in the application. With the functionality called “Recently Deleted Menet” (Recently DeletedYou will be able to view and restore what you deleted, including photos, videos, reels, IGTV videos, and stories.

With this announcement, it is clear that Instagram wants to give people the opportunity to preserve their content before permanently removing it. The application already offers an archive, to keep the publications without being publicly available.

New Instagram feature helps you recover deleted content

The functionality introduced by Instagram is reminiscent of a feature in the iOS Photos app that does exactly the same thing. That is, all the content you delete will go to a folder, also called Recently Deleted. They will be stored there for 30 days, and after that time has elapsed they will be automatically deleted.

In the same way, Items deleted on Instagram from now on will remain in the folder for 30 days. And, if they are not touched, they will be automatically deleted after that time. However, stories are the exception. They will only stay in the recently deleted items section for 24 hours before being permanently deleted.

Here I explain, in detail, how to recover deleted photos from Instagram with this new feature.

Greater security

Parallel to the introduction of this new Instagram feature, the application announced the introduction of additional measures to protect the content of compromised accounts. For example, starting today, users will be “asked to first verify that they are the rightful account holders in order to permanently restore or delete the contents of the“ Recently Deleted ”folders.

We know that hackers sometimes delete content when accessing an account, and until now people had no way of easily recovering their photos and videos.” Said Instagram on his blog.

In the end, Instagram benefits from having more content, well sometimes not so much. But the point is that the more data, about the users. The more you can encourage people to keep your posts, the better it will be for the service.
