If we didn’t know better, we would say that tomorrow is December 24th. At least it feels a lot like giving presents when you take a look at the latest home theater innovations: With “Tenet” and “Zombie – Dawn Of The Dead” there will be two very special masterpieces in stores from tomorrow (December 17th) – which should not make it easy for the many fans. Because both films are not only available in different formats, but above all in several, sometimes rather unusual, collector’s editions.

„Tenet“ for example, as usual for current productions, you can get it on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray and of course as VOD on Amazon Prime Video and Co. In addition, there is also the Mindfuck thriller by Christopher Nolan (“Interstellar”) as a limited edition in the steelbook – in two versions, as a Blu-ray and as a 4K Blu-ray.

The selection is likely to be even more difficult „Zombie: Dawn Of The Dead“ fall. Because the undead classic by genre legend George A. Romero is not only finally available completely uncut in Germany, but also as a retro VHS edition or as a mediabook (both exclusively at Amazon) and in other limited editions exclusively in the Koch shop Films:

You don’t know the films yet and don’t know whether they suit your taste? We will briefly introduce them to you:

This is “Tenet”

Ironically, in the year in which cinema visits were rarer than ever before, master director Christopher Nolan came around the corner with “Tenet” – a film that is best seen several times if you really want to understand everything in it. From tomorrow you will have the opportunity to do just that.

In the non-time travel thriller, the protagonist (John David Washington) is about preventing World War III together with his new partner (Robert Pattinson). All that is available to him is the word “tenet” – and the power of inversion.

From us there are for that “Visually intoxicating and conceptually groundbreaking science fiction masterpiece” not only 5 out of 5 possible points in the FILMSTARTS review, but also a place among the best films of the year.

“Tenet” & Co .: These are the best films of 2020

Das ist “Zombie – Dawn Of The Dead”

All those horror fans for whom it was not so easy for decades to get the Romero classic “Dawn Of The Dead” uncut, after it was indexed in Germany due to its depictions of violence (even if in the various Blu-ray editions came from Austria in recent years). The uncut version is finally off the index and can now be freely sold in Germany with an FSK-18 approval.

In the 1978 classic of the undead, George A. Romero tells of the zombie apocalypse that afflicts one city after another. While the streets are empty, a group of survivors – including Roger (Scott H. Reiniger) and Peter (Ken Foree) from the special forces unit – seek shelter in a department store. But how should it go from there?

“Dawn Of The Dead” is not only one of the most legendary zombie films, but also one of the greatest horror classics of all time. Modern zombie hits like “The Walking Dead” wouldn’t be what they are without this film.
