New Extended Wheelbase Volkswagen ID.Buzz with Three Rows of Seats

The electric Volkswagen ID.Buzz will soon also be available in a version with a long wheelbase and three rows of seats.

The electric bus and winner of the title “German Car of the Year 2023” continues its planned evolution by adding an extended base model to the family, which will become available on the market from next spring.

This model is 25 centimeters longer, and is equipped with a third row of seats and a larger luggage compartment, the volume of which reaches up to 2649 liters. There are two separate seats in the front row (a three-seater bench for the Cargo version of the commercial vehicle), the second row of seats is designed as a three-seater bench or with two separate seats, which will not be removable due to the seat heating built into the standard, while the third row of seats, which is a buyer’s choice in Europe and which in the future will also be available for the short ID.Buzz, as well as the second row can be removed or folded down, thus obtaining a completely flat luggage floor.

The long ID Buzz is offered with either 77 kWh or 85 kWh batteries, and is powered by the all-new APP 550 motor with 210 kW (286 hp), delivering 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h . For comparison: the ID.Buzz standard model with a 150 kW (204 hp) motor covers the sprint distance in 10.2 seconds, while the maximum speed is 145 km/h.

The tall ID.Buzz will have a completely new central screen and technology that allows you to take advantage of the Head-up projection display, the large panoramic roof can be switched from transparent to opaque, and the large, middle side window can be ordered to be opened.

It is known that Volkswagen is also preparing other ID.Buzz models: the ID Buzz Cargo 125 kW (170 hp) with a small 63 kWh battery and the GTX modification with a 250 kW (339 hp) engine that will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 in seconds.
