New corona case in Stavanger – News

Stavanger has received a new corona case. On Thursday 20 August, a man in his 30s was diagnosed with Covid-19, Stavanger municipality states in a press release.

The man has been traveling in a so-called “gray” country – that is, in a country outside the EU / EEA / Schengen.
– He was in travel quarantine when he came home, and tested himself while he was in quarantine because he got symptoms, Ruth Midtgarden, health manager in Stavanger, tells RA.

Not worried

The man and the others in the household are now in quarantine, and there is good control of the infection trace, the municipality believes.

– There is no reason for any concern, Midtgarden believes.

The health director does not want to give more details about the new corona case in Stavanger. This is common due to privacy concerns.

On Friday, there were 511 confirmed corona infections in Rogaland. So far, the county has three dead.
Stavanger has 149 confirmed infections since the start. Sandnes has 59, Sola 20 and Randaberg 11 infected. It shows numbers from VG.

Decrease in the number of infected

35 new cases of coronary heart disease have been registered in Norway at midnight on Friday night, preliminary figures from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) show. That is a decrease of 16 from the day before. Since Monday, 232 new cases of infection have been registered. The figures are taken from the Notification System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS) and show a preliminary overview.

95 percent

A total of 10,197 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus since February. About 95 percent are healthy, according to FHI. A total of 11 people were hospitalized on Thursday with a detected coronavirus. It is the same as the day before, figures from the Norwegian Directorate of Health show.

None of the patients receive treatment in a respirator.

FHI has registered 264 coronary-related deaths in this country.
