North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Christian Mickoski has reiterated that he will call his country “Macedonia”, citing his “human right”.
“This constitutes my right to (free) expression. I have said this. Where it is necessary to observe the Constitution and the laws I must observe them. Whether I like it or not is another matter. If I like it or not I can say it somewhere else. Until I exercise this office, where the Constitution and the law must be respected (…) This is how things are. But, my right to free expression, the right to (free) speech, is an inalienable right. And, yes, I use the term Macedonia and I will use the term Macedonia, because this is my human right and no one can take it away from me,” Mickoski said in a podcast interview in Skopje.
Referring to the Prespa Agreement, Christian Mickoski noted: “I was one of those politicians who five years ago said that this is a reality, but that it is bad, harmful, yes, I will say that again.”
