The new 5 positive cases reported by IASAUDE are “five travelers, unrelated to each other, who were being studied by health authorities”. Of the situations reported yesterday, two have not been confirmed, whereas during the day today, two situations that are under analysis by the health authorities have been identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at Madeira Airport. Epidemiological investigations and laboratory analyzes are ongoing.
Until August 3, 1,575 notifications of suspected cases from Covid-19 are counted in RAM, of which 1,459 have not been confirmed. In total, the region has recorded 116 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date, of which 98 are recovered cases and 18 are active cases. The 18 active cases consist of 15 imported cases identified in the context of the surveillance activities implemented at the Covid-19 Screening Unit at Madeira Airport and three cases are of local transmission.
