Almost a week after the disturbances on the Malieveld in The Hague, the police arrested another person. The 61-year-old man from The Hague was arrested yesterday afternoon in Brielle. He is locked up.
The riots broke last Sunday after a demonstration against the corona policy. Police demanded that those present, according to the police, a mix of protesters and troublemakers, leave the Malieveld.
Many people did not respond to this and it came to confrontations with the police. On the day itself, 425 people were arrested, including 11 for open violence. One of last week’s detainees is still in custody.
The detective is still looking for others who were involved in the riots. To do this, the police ask people to send photos and videos.
