Neubrandenburg, Germany – Fifteen young athletes from Neubrandenburg and surrounding areas crowned their district champions in steel darts this weekend at the NB-Darts club building. Konstantin Karn and Amy-Annabelle Prufer emerged victorious in the 3rd district youth sports games.
Karn successfully defended his title, while Prufer, a first-time competitor who also plays association football for 1. FC Neubrandenburg,secured her first district championship.
“It was a successful event. With 15 participants we had a new record number of participants,but there could easily be more,” said co-organizer André Weidner of NB-Darts. Karn, 15, faced strong competition from brothers Henry and Oskar schulz of Neustrelitz, who finished with silver and bronze medals respectively.
Developing the Next generation of Darts players
Karn defeated Henry Schulz 3-0 in the final, capitalizing on Schulz’s struggles with doubles. Prufer won her match against Hanna Kadow 2-0, with Nina Wallstabe taking bronze. NB-darts player malin Fiddike finished fourth.
Rudolf Hengefeld recorded the highest single score of the nearly three-hour event, hitting 140 points twice with a three-arrow shot. Oskar Schulz achieved the highest checkout, scoring 104 points over three arrows.
NB-Darts welcomes anyone under 18 interested in learning and playing darts. Training is held every Monday from 4 p.m. at the club on Lindenstraße in Neubrandenburg.
