The world opera star explained her position and protested against the restrictive measures on stage.

49 year old Anna Netrebko – the star of the world opera. Possessing a lyric and dramatic soprano, the artist is able to perform even the most difficult parts, which has won the love of the public from almost the whole world. She performs with outstanding opera singers on the best European stages, but does not forget about her native Mariinsky Theater, where she is preparing to appear as Turandot in the opera of the same name by Puccini.
However, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, Netrebko’s tour of the world has been suspended. Some European theaters are completely closed. And some began to put forward requirements for singers to perform in medical masks.
Upon learning of this, Anna Netrebko was indignant. The star does not agree to such conditions and explained her position:
“I consider it a crime against the health of the singer, it is disastrous for the lungs, heart and voice! I personally refuse such conditions and protest, ”Netrebko stated about her position.
Many fans of the singer supported her in the comments. Someone admitted that it is difficult even for ordinary people to breathe in a mask, and then what can happen to an opera singer: “Let them try to sing at least a light song in a mask”, “How is it possible to sing in a mask?”.
