Net mobility in the Czech Republic could receive multibillion-dollar support in the coming years

In addition to a slight increase to the current 13 billion from European operational programs by 2027, it is planned to increase support for clean mobility also through subsidies to the Ministry of Transport infrastructure or contributions from new sources, such as the modernization fund and the renewal fund. This was stated at the Automotive 2020 conference by Deputy Minister of Industry Eduard Muřický.

Funds from operational programs will be used to support the acquisition of green vehicles, the construction of infrastructure, support for public transport and investment in research and development. The Ministry of Transport plans to increase investment in infrastructure to more than three times, ie to four billion crowns.

Another roughly CZK 9.5 billion is to be set aside from the newly created modernization fund and the renewal fund. The plans to support clean mobility include the construction of 6,200 public charging stations and another 2,200 charging points.

The domestic automotive industry accounts for about 26 percent of industrial production and employs about half a million people. There is no consensus among experts on the impact of a truly massive transition to electric cars on the sector and the economy as a whole.
