Minister Néstor Reverol was promoted to general in chief, as the first officer of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) in the history of this military component.

This was stated on August 4 by President Nicolás Maduro, during the commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of the (GNB).

“With great excitement at what I do as Commander-in-Chief, I have decided to promote you as General-in-Chief of the GNB. He is the first general-in-chief of the GNB, this is my recognition not only of you as a brave man, military leader and loyal man to the cause of the revolution of Hugo Chávez and Simón Bolívar and loyal to the constitutional president, but also to the GNB , It is recognition for him to have his first general-in-chief and go down the road to fight the battle that is yet to be fought for our country, ”said Maduro.

Reverol, current minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, has 35 years of service in order to guarantee the security and internal order of the country, holding positions as aide-de-camp to Commander Hugo Chávez, president of the National Anti-drug Office (ONA), vice minister of Prevention and Citizen Security, Commander General of the GNB and in the present Sector Vice President of Public Works and Services.

From Fuerte Tiuna, in Caracas, in addition, he awarded decorations to other officers and soldiers “for outstanding military operations against terrorists, criminal and criminal groups on the borders and in other areas.”
