The 31-year-old Mexican central defender returns to Mexican soccer after serving four years in Europa with the Celta de Vigo, ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“Hello to all my followers, thanks for all your support. Calm azulcremas, I’m here,” he said Nestor Araujo through a video posted on social media America.

The Mexican center-back recorded a total of 135 games with the squad from ballads in four campaigns, in which he registered a balance of four goals, three assists, 19 yellow cards and one expulsion.


Nestor Araujo militated in Santos Laguna with whom he won four titles: two Liga MX (Clausura 2015 and Clausura 2018), one Copa MX (Apertura 2014) and one Champion of Champions (2015).

Con Blue Cross, a team in which he trained and played until 2013, raised an MX Cup (Clausura 2013). He signed with Celta de Vigo in the summer of 2018 in exchange for 7 million euros.
