While neighboring countries have already ordered massive rapid corona tests, Belgium has not yet done so. That writes Het Laatste Nieuws.
Rapid corona tests can become an important part of our future testing strategy, including for staff and residents in residential care centers. The Netherlands ordered more than 2 million, France 5 million and Germany 9 million. Belgium did not order anything yet.
“The government has not yet bought any antigen tests, that’s right,” says Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke (SP.A). “The tests are still being validated. Only when that has been completed can we determine in which environment we best use them. Experts are discussing this strategy. ” We may already be at the end of October if a buying strategy can be determined. The question is whether the worldwide stock has already been bought up by other governments.
