Tonight young people attacked a police officer in Beethovenstraat in South after he tried to arrest one of them.

That happened around 5:30 pm. According to a bystander, the group caused a nuisance earlier in the evening. The police officer then asked if one of them could identify himself.
Resistance
Since the boy did not want to cooperate, the officer wanted to arrest him. He resisted this. Meanwhile, other youths kicked or hit the officer. During the action he shouted the emergency signal ‘assistance colleague’, and all officers in the area urgently come to help.
Images that AT5 received from a bystander show that other police officers have now come to the rescue of the police officer. They keep the rest of the youngsters at bay.
