Negotiated Transactions Reach Rp 30 T a Month, What’s a Sign?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Entering the fourth quarter of this year, many transactions took place in the negotiating market. Foreigners are observed to have made a lot of buying and selling of domestic shares through the negotiating market.

At the end of last September, trading data noted that there were at least 8 stocks traded in the negotiating market.

First, there are shares of PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO) with a transaction value of Rp 188.4 billion. Then there is also a jumbo negotiable transaction worth Rp 6.4 trillion in shares of PT Bank Aladin Syariah Tbk (BANK).

Furthermore, there are shares of PT Bintang Oto Global Tbk (BOGA) which are traded in the negotiation market between domestic investors. The transaction reached Rp 214.6 billion.

Shares of listed football club PT Bali United Tbk (BOLA) were also traded in the negotiating market. In the negotiated market, BOLA’s share transaction reached Rp 492.2 billion.

Shares of PT Multipolar Tbk (MLPL) are also traded in the negotiating market with a total transaction of Rp 258 billion. Furthermore, there are shares of PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk (RANC) which has a retail business under the name Ranch Market with a transaction of Rp 2.05 trillion.

Finally, at the end of September there were shares of PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) which were traded in the negotiating market worth Rp 201.6 billion.

In just one day, the total transactions in the negotiated market at the end of September reached Rp 9.97 trillion. This transaction also pushed the JCI turnover to reach Rp 20 trillion.

The negotiation transaction then continued in early October. Precisely on the first day of the 10th month, it was observed that there was a jumbo negotiation transaction in the shares of the BTS tower management company PT Solusi Tunas Pratama Tbk (SUPR). Its value reaches Rp. 16.73 trillion.

This jumbo negotiation transaction follows the plan of one of the tower issuers belonging to the Djarum group, namely PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) to acquire SUPR.

Not even a week, trading in the negotiating market was again marked by transactions in shares of PT Capital Financial Indonesia Tbk (CASA). The transaction was recorded at Rp 1.07 trillion.

For information, the majority shareholder of CASA is PT Capital Strategic Invesco which holds almost 75% of the total shares.

It should also be noted that CASA’s own shares still have an affiliation with the shares of the KBMI I bank, namely PT Bank Capital Tbk (BACA).

On Tuesday last week (12/10) it was the turn of PT Bank Aladin Syariah Tbk (BANK) shares which were observed to be traded in the negotiating market with a jumbo value of Rp 2.19 trillion.

Last week, there was a negotiated transaction in the shares of PT MD Pictures Tbk (FILM). The transaction value reached Rp 811.04 billion.

This means that if the total transaction value in the negotiating market is calculated, accumulatively since the end of September, it has reached Rp 30.77 trillion.

For information, the negotiated market on the IDX is one of three types of transactions on the stock exchange. Other types of transactions are transactions in the regular market or the ordinary market, and the cash market.

Transactions in the regular market are transactions carried out using a continuous bargaining mechanism and become a transaction facility at normal prices and a minimum transaction amount of 1 lot (100 shares).

On the other hand, large transactions carried out in the negotiated market usually involve large owners or shareholders who do not want to damage prices in the regular market. The price and number of transactions can be determined by both parties without needing to follow the market price.

That is why transactions in the negotiating market can be a reflection of corporate actions that can lead to speculation in the market that can move prices.
