NCORR seeking public comment on proposed changes to disaster mitigation and recovery funding plans

The NC Administration for Recovery and Resilience (NCORR) calls for public comment on proposed changes to the three Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery spending action plans (CDBG-DR) and the Mitigation and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-MIT), see here, whose funds are provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (hud) for hurricane-affected areas of the state Matteo yes Florence. The proposed changes to the action plan include changes to previously approved federally funded programs that support the state’s long-term recovery from storm damage while building future resilience.

The proposed amendments are intended to expand programs to help more North Carolina residents benefit from current disaster recovery measures and provide a more comprehensive mitigation approach to future storms. Among other updates, the proposed changes include the allocations: Homeowner Recovery Program, cf here; Affordable Housing Development Fund, see here; Fund for the restoration of social housing, see here; Infrastructure Recovery Program, see here; and the strategic acquisitions programme, see here.

The public comment listening periods corresponding to the three action plans start on 9 December and end at 17:00 on the following dates:

CDBG Mitigation Grant: Monday, January 23, 2023

Governor Cooper established the NCORR Administration in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to accelerate disaster recovery programs across the state and to help communities rebuild smarter and stronger. In addition to recovery and mitigation efforts, the NCORR Administration manages programs that support resilience, community development, affordable housing, strategic purchasing, infrastructure, local government grants and loans.
