NCAA: Georgia quarterback arrested

University of Georgia Bulldogs star quarterback Stetson Bennett was arrested for public drunkenness early in the day on Sunday

The 25-year-old athlete’s arrest reportedly took place in an area east of Dallas around 6 a.m.

According to a statement from the Texas Municipal Police, Bennett was intoxicated when officers arrived. After being handcuffed, he was taken to a Dallas jail.

According to the “WFAA” network, the Georgia native was released a few hours later.

The finalist for the Heisman Trophy, the distinction given to the best player in American college football, won the NCAA National Championship for the second consecutive year by crushing the Horned Frogs of TCU University 65 to 7 on January 9th.
