New New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau wants his bosses to give him the tools to win now.
According to New York Daily News, Thibodeau would make requests to the management of the team in order to obtain key players for the next season.
Rumors have already hinted that the Knicks may be interested in Houston Rockets’ Russell Westbrook and Toronto Raptors free agent Fred VanVleet.
The Knicks have room under the salary cap, and they can also deny Bobby Portis the $ 15.8 million option year.
The window for making trades is slated to open next week, with the hunt for free agents set to kick off on November 20.
The Knicks have the eighth pick for the next draft which is held on November 18.
The New York squad went 21-45 last season and missed the playoffs for a seventh straight season.
