Star Kevin Durant told Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai that he should choose between keeping him on the team or the coach Steve Nash and General Manager, Sean Marks, reported The Athletic.
Citing unnamed sources, the report says Durant met with Tsai in London and stressed that he has no faith in the team’s direction after the Nets were eliminated by Boston in the first round of the playoffs.
Durant, 33, a two-time NBA champion and 2014 league MVP, applied to be traded in June. He is entering the first season of a four-year, $198 million contract extension he signed a year ago with the Nets.
Durant’s ultimatum comes after the Nets finished last season with a 44-38 record, trading James Harden to the 76ers and seeing Kyrie Irving miss most of the season for refusing to get a COVID-19 shot. 19.
