NBA – Four corona cases at the San Antonio Spurs

The NBA has canceled the next three games of the San Antonio Spurs. Four Texans’ players tested positive for the corona virus, according to a statement. There is no case with the Dallas Mavericks, but the upcoming home game is canceled due to the collapsed power supply in Texas.

The Spurs had won in Charlotte on Monday night, but stayed there after the game and are currently in quarantine in Queen City. The night games on Thursday (Cleveland), Sunday (New York) and Tuesday (Indiana) have therefore been postponed.

This makes San Antonio the third team after Washington and Memphis that cannot play a game for at least a week. But Charlotte is also affected, due to the contact tracing, the games against Chicago have been postponed to Thursday night and against Denver to Saturday night.

Hornets coach James Borrego said there was no evidence that any of his players were infected. However, the Hornets only had eight players available against San Antonio due to various injuries, which is why Borrego is not yet sure whether Charlotte can play against Golden State again on Sunday night.

Mavs game canceled due to lack of power

So so far 29 games have been postponed this season due to corona cases or contact tracing. The 30th game cancellation of the season, on the other hand, has nothing to do with Corona. The Dallas Mavericks will not be able to play their home game against Detroit on Thursday night because there is still no reliable power supply in Texas after the onset of winter.

The NBA stated that the game cannot take place due to the shutdown ordered by the Texas authorities. Much of the state continues to be cut off from electricity after the unusual snowfalls and extreme cold.
