NBA cancels Kevin Porter Jr’s abused triple-double

The Houston Rockets did everything they could to Kevin Porter Jr could achieve the first triple-double of his young career. In the victory against Oklahoma City on Monday, the teammates of the Texan back even sharply stepped aside to let him take his 10th rebound in the last moments of the game. The scene was a bit taken aback, but since it was during a winning match, we finally retained the camaraderie of the scene.

Some had ticked a bit and argued that this 10th rebound should not have been given to KPJ, sinceAlperen Sengun had deflected the ball initially. The NBA ruled on Tuesday and agreed with the skeptics. The league considered the Turkish interior to have control of the ball when he touched it. The triple-double of Kevin Porter Jr, who has therefore compiled “only” 11 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds, was therefore invalidated.

This is probably only a postponement, since the former Cleveland player is the productive type, even if he has recorded almost as many ball losses (4.3) per game as rebounds (4.8) since the start of the season. The 21-year-old full-back, holder of the lead with the Rockets, runs 13.3 points, 6.1 assists and 4.8 rebounds with, on the other hand, a somewhat alarming address (35.9%).

The Rockets refused to take a rebound … to give Kevin Porter Jr a triple-double
