A German medical plane has already landed in Omsk, sent at the request of the family and associates of the Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny, who was to transport it to Berlin, the TASS agency reported on Friday (August 21). Doctors, however, do not agree to remove the opposition from the facility.

TASS refers to the data of the Flightradar24 website, which tracks the movement of aircraft. The arrival of the plane was confirmed by the airport’s press services, the RBK portal reported.
The transport of the Russian politician to Germany was organized by the Cinema for Peace foundation. According to the head of the foundation, there are specialists and medical equipment on the plane. Navalny would be accommodated in the Charite clinical hospital in Berlin.
On Thursday (August 20), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov promised to help evacuate Navalny abroad for treatment if such requests came.
This is not the first time that the Cinema for Peace foundation has become involved in helping a Russian activist. In 2018, she organized the treatment of Piotr Wierzłów in Berlin – reminds the BBC. Wierzlov was about to be poisoned.
A spokeswoman for the Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny, Kira Jarmysz, said, however, that the chief doctor of the hospital in Omsk believes that Navalny’s condition does not allow him to be transported from Omsk to another medical facility.
– Taking Alexei Navalny from the hospital in Omsk is premature, his condition does not allow it – said the head doctor of the hospital, Aleksandr Murachowski later. He added that Navalny’s condition has improved and that the research will take two more days.
Doctors cannot allow a patient to be taken on the responsibility of their relatives if clinical indicators raise concerns about the effects of such transport, he said.
– If the patient’s condition was stable, my specialists and the council held today would not be against it – added Murachowski.
The fact that Alexei Navalny was hospitalized was announced on Thursday morning (August 20) by Jarmysz on social media.
“This morning Navalny was returning to Moscow from Tomsk. He felt bad during the flight. The plane urgently landed in Omsk. Alexei suffered poisoning with toxins” – she informed. She later added that Navalny was unconscious.
According to the spokeswoman, the reason could be the substance added to the tea. “We suppose that Alexei was poisoned with something mixed in his tea. He only drank it since morning. Doctors say that the toxins got through the hot liquid faster” – wrote Jarmysz. The politician drank tea in a cafe at the airport in Tomsk.
Alexei Navalny’s associate, Ivan Zhdanov, informed journalists on Friday that a representative of the transport police told the chief doctor of the hospital in Omsk that a poison had been identified that was dangerous not only to Navalny but also to those around him.
The spokeswoman of Navalny added that the name of the poison was not given, referring to the secret of the investigation.
– Doctors do not react to this information – said Jarmysz on Twitter.
Navalny, 44, is a lawyer and opposition activist, author of a blog popular in Russia.
The Foundation for Combating Corruption, which he founded, regularly publishes investigative materials on corruption abuses in the highest circles of the Russian government.
