The platform of auxiliary companies of the naval sector who suffer defaults from large shipyards since 2008 requested yesterday that Igape help them with the assignment of lawyers for its open judicial fronts “as it had promised at the beginning of the year Fernando Guldrís –The general director of the institute– when he met with us in Moaña ”, says the spokesperson for the group, Balbino Barcia. He points out that at the moment only he was given lawyers. “Two colleagues have already lost their apartments, one in Vigo and the other in Moaña. And now two others, from Cangas and Moaña, are exposed to eviction for not being able to pay the mortgage. We were victims of a scam, because the shipyards credited us with unfunded promissory notes. We only ask for the support of the Xunta ”, he alleges.

Last week these businessmen went to the Galician Parliament where the PSOE demanded from the Xunta aid to their situation. “I think our case is not well understood. We are concerned that the naval will succeed, but what we need is not help for Barreras, but that they demand that they pay their debts with us, so we could liquidate ours with the banks and with the Treasury ”.
Regrets, Barcia, that find more understanding of the European institutions “than of the Galician and Spanish ones” and points out that for other countries the unpaid orders to the assistants of some Spanish shipyards “suppose unfair competition”.
