Despite the beautiful spring weather, the Netherlands is not planning to go out on a massive scale today. Staatsbosbeheer and Natuurmonumenten had called for the avoidance of nature reserves and the public has responded, they say. The safety regions are also satisfied.
“The general picture is that there were fewer visitors in our areas than last weekend. That’s good, because it was not so good then,” says a spokesperson for Natuurmonumenten. “I hope we can keep this up tomorrow.”
“We do not want people to read now that it was better today and go out tomorrow,” emphasizes a spokesperson for Staatsbosbeheer. “Don’t go looking for nature, that’s not the intention. Just stay at home.”
