RF is asked to be transparent in the demonstration of military power

Stoltenberg, following the US Secretary of Defense, called on Russia for transparency in troop movements.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg once again turned to Russia over the movement of troops near the border with Ukraine, calling for transparency, informs the alliance press office on Friday, 19 November.

“We also see a large and unusual concentration of Russian troops near Ukraine’s borders. It is imperative that Russia demonstrates transparency in building up its military power, provides de-escalation and reduces tensions,” he said.

Stoltenberg added that NATO is closely monitoring the situation and continues to provide political and practical support to Ukraine.

Earlier to openness in the movement of troops Russia called on the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin, who had a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov the day before.

On the eve of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin blamed NATO in the destruction of all mechanisms of dialogue, in a confrontational mood and demonstrative approach of the military infrastructure to the Russian borders.
