NATO has condemned North Korea’s attempt to launch a military satellite

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has condemned North Korea’s attempt to launch a military satellite using ballistic missile technology.

General Secretary Stoltenberg expressed his strong condemnation of this initiative in a written statement: “It increases tensions, creates serious risks for the security of the region and beyond, and clearly violates numerous resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.” NATO calls on North Korea to stop these provocative actions and engage in dialogue. The alliance will continue to stand by the Republic of Korea and Japan, which are close partners in the region.”

According to information obtained by SIA, North Korea’s early morning satellite launch failed due to a malfunction in the launch vehicle system. The launch was North Korea’s 6th failed satellite launch attempt since 2016.
