The plan is to start with the Cup on September 15th and 16th and the championship two days later. At least if the Federal Council then lifts the restriction to 1000 spectators. Due to the unpredictable development of the number of infections, serious forecasts cannot be made at the moment. A lot now depends on the discipline of the population. “It makes me sick when I see people shaking hands, hugging each other and celebrating in the city with no worries or distance,” SCB boss Marc Lüthi said recently in an NZZ interview. «The virus has not gone, it has not become less dangerous just because some people have grown tired of the rules. There is a lot at stake right now. »

You have to reckon with restrictions and protection concepts anyway. If standing room is allowed, then it is likely only with divided sectors and personalized tickets, so that you know who was standing next to whom for contact tracing. It is also possible that masks are prescribed in the stadiums, as in public transport. “I prefer viewers with a mask to none,” says NL director Denis Vaucher.
