National Institute of Migration: they separate a thousand 40 employees for corruption

The Commissioner of National Institute of Migration (INM), Francisco Garduño, indicated that more than thousand 40 workers have been separated from their positions within the institution due to acts of corruption.

“More than a thousand and 40 public servants who were in the Institute have had to resign, or have been submitted to the comptroller.”

According to the public official, and in relation to the servers separated from their position, the new digital system implemented in the INM it fights irregular acts and, with it, corruption is inhibited.

During the tour of the representative offices in Mexico City, to verify the administrative modernization program of the Migration’s national institute, the Secretary of the Interior, Olga Sanchez CorderoHe pointed out that the Institute is the gateway to the country and must necessarily present the best face.

“It is the first contact that the foreigner has with our country, it is a cumbersome procedure, it is a corrupt procedure, it is not agile, it is not efficient, the first thing it says, which country I arrived in. On the other hand, the kind treatment, the cordial and human treatment, is a totally different thing ”.

In addition, Sánchez Cordero highlighted the progress in the Migration’s national institute

According to the same INM, the last year I know performed 414 thousand 776 timmigration procedures. This year, despite the pandemic, there have been 190 thousand 749 procedures.
