An ANSP delegation attends the sixth meeting of CDC and PIVI partners on the development of the influenza vaccination program

The director of the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), Nicolae Jelamschi, together with specialists from the institution, participates in the sixth meeting of CDC and PIVI partners on the development of the influenza vaccination program, which takes place in the city of Vientiane, Laos. The event is organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Task Force for Global Health (TFGH) and the Partnership for Influenza Vaccine Introduction (PIVI), from January 31 to February 2, 2023.

The work of the meeting brought together, in total, 124 specialists from 28 countries, including from the TFGH, PIVI, CDC, the World Health Organization, representatives of the Ministries of Health, Public Health Institutes and non-governmental health organizations.

The meeting is a moment of concentration for partners and experts in the field of surveillance of viral respiratory infections, seasonal influenza to share good practices and achieve an exchange of experience in the development, implementation, evaluation and sustainability of the influenza vaccination program.

The meeting focused on addressing several important topics, discussed in plenary and regional sessions, on influenza immunization, including: updates for partner countries, sharing lessons learned from the partnership, PIVI data collection and reporting, tools and evidence, vaccine policy development, lessons learned to achieve program sustainability and growth, country needs and strategies for delivering sustained and impactful programs.

The ANSP delegation additionally had a bilateral meeting with the representatives of the PIVI management, where the work plans were discussed, the challenges and opportunities in the strategic directions of collaboration were presented.
