The 2022-2023 vintage of Montluçon Foot (Allier) is slowly maturing… The group is taking shape little by little, since the resumption of training on July 18. Hoping to be ready for the start of the harvest season, and the National 3 championship, on Sunday August 28 at home at the Dunlop stadium against Limonest.
Recruitment
In the meantime, the new coach and former pro player Nicolas Laspalles, appointed on June 16, continues his maturation business. After having already announced the arrival of some seven newcomers, in order to compensate for the numerous departures, it has just recorded an eighth.
To know ? Cameroonian central defender Samuel Wangue (24), capable of playing as a right side or even central midfielder. Trained at AS Saint-Priest, this sturdy guy (1.85 m; 86 kg) then had experiences at Évian-Thonon, Clermont Foot, England, then more recently at Sarreguemines FC (N3) or at Goal HR (R1).
“Samuel Wangue is a robust person, who will bring us his physical impact and his experience. »

Other important information at the transfer window level: the left side Jérémy Baret (23), at the club since last year but who was about to leave, finally decided to stay in Montluçon. Ditto for right-back Nathan Mauvy, except that he injured his cruciate ligaments in his knee and will be out of action for several months.
“We will still have one or two players on trial next week, and we also have two or three tracks, for a last reinforcement in attack”, adds Nicolas Laspalles. “In the end that will make us a group of about twenty-three elements, where I can put competition in place”.
The wounded
The only downside is that this squad is currently cut off from wingers Quentin Lallemand and Valentin Tinet, as well as midfielder Jonathan Pérot. All three are recovering from injuries.

The preparation
But that does not prevent the MF from fueling well for a month. Evidenced by the first friendly match played against ES Guéret (N3) Wednesday at home (1-1). “With a group in reconstruction and for a first test, I was positively surprised by the intensity put by the boys”, abounds the technician.
“Of course there are still some tweaks to be made, but I saw some really interesting things in the game’s animation or behavior. »
