The Paris prosecutor’s office opened a preliminary investigation into Paris Saint Germain and its president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. What is it?
PSG is under investigation for alleged undeclared employment. This was announced by the Paris prosecutor’s office, Tuesday (7/2/2023).
“Following the complaint received on December 13, 2022, an investigation was opened on January 16, 2023 on the basis of undeclared work,” said the Paris prosecutor’s office. Reuters.
The complaint was launched by a Tunisian, Hicham Bouajila. He’s called working for Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Paris Saint Germain as an advisor.
However, Bouajila is paid by Al-Khelaifi sporadically and his salary is irregularly paid by the Doha-based tennis academy Smash, with which he has no ties.
Bouajila knew Al-Khelaifi more than 20 years ago when the Qatari was in charge Al Jazeera Sportwhich over time was modernized under the name beIN Sports. Bouajila is claimed to have helped Al-Khelaifi’s efforts to penetrate the North African market.
The PSG camp denied the working relationship with Hicham Bouajila. The Parisians said Bouajila was never a club employee or beIN Sports.
“He has never been an employee of PSG or beIN. No further statements will be made regarding downright fraudulent individuals trading in misinformation and trying to profit from media manipulation”, the statement read. Paris Saint Germain.
