American scientists have succeeded in making artificial mini-proteins with a computer. They can quickly detect and stop the virus.
The protein is so small that it can be incorporated into a nasal spray or inhaler. Just a pinch in both nostrils or a swig of the inhaler and we are temporarily protected against the virus.
Researchers of the Institute for Protein Design of the University of Washington School of Medicine had the computer calculate what a protein that can bind and neutralize the coronavirus should look like.
A protein was released that blocks the virus in a similar way to antibodies in our immune system. However, it only works preventively, it is not a cure.
