NASA Design a Necklace to Prevent Someone from Touching the Face: Techno

CALIFORNIA – In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, NASA’s space agency made an open source instruction that could prevent its users from touching their faces, quoted iNews.

Tool made of 3D molds is made in the form of a necklace. As is known, the hand has the potential to become a medium of delivery of viruses or bacteria. Therefore, people are asked not to touch their faces with dirty hands.

The problem is, avoiding hands touching the face is not easy. To remind, three engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab created, Pulse.

Pulse in the form of this necklace has a proximity sensor with a range of 12 inches and a coin vibration motor that is active when moving the hand toward the head. The closer your fingers are, the stronger the vibrations will get.

“The purpose of Pulse is to minimize the spread of Covid-19 which can be transmitted if someone touches an infected surface with their hands and then touches their eyes, nose or mouth,” NASA said.

You can download the list of parts you need, CAD to 3D designs to print cases and directions on how to make a necklace for free. NASA said they designed Pulse to be affordable and easy to put together.

NASA noted, Pulse was not designed to replace a mask or respirator. For the day, Pulse works alongside other corona prevention measures such as keeping a distance and thoroughly washing hands.
