The store’s metal curtains are down on Saturday morning, July 17, yet a day when commerce can usually be in full swing. And for good reason: located at the bottom of the rue de Strasbourg, near the Miroir d’eau in the city center of Nantes, the Comptoir national de l’Or, a store specializing in the purchase and resale of gold, was robbed the day before.
It was around 5:30 p.m. this Friday, July 16, when a man entered the establishment. His face was partly covered, and he was wearing a hat. On his belt, a handgun, which he did not show, however.
Police officers rely on CCTV
The shop assistant was alone. The man had no difficulty picking up the gold items that were on the shelves. According to initial estimates, the damage would amount to € 20,000. There would have been no violence against the victim.
The man left on foot. The investigation was entrusted to the Departmental Security. The police will endeavor in particular to use the video surveillance images at their disposal.
