Nancy’s CHRU launches the “white plan”

After Strasbourg and Mulhouse, the Nancy CHRU is in turn activating the “white plan” which had been deactivated since June 20. The establishment announced this Monday, December 6, at the end of the day: “Due to the acceleration and necessary strengthening of the resuscitation and medical care capacities linked to the management of Covid-19, coupled with current hospital tensions, the Nancy CHRU has decided to trigger the White Plan as of December 6. ”

Increase in intensive care

This system concerns most of the public hospitals of Meurthe-et-Moselle dependent on the CHRU such as the hospitals of Toul, Pont-à-Mousson, Pompey and Dieuze. “The implementation of the Plan Blanc should make it possible to increase and support the current Covid management capacities and to adapt the level of mobilization of human resources necessary for their proper functioning, in particular with a view to a potential increase the number of patients affected by COVID by the end of December 2021 “, indicates the Nancy CHRU before specifying that to date, 58 Covid patients are hospitalized within its walls, including 26 in intensive care and critical care.

Runaway of the epidemic

On December 3, according to the weekly health point of the Regional Health Agency (ARS), the incidence rate of the Grand Est had passed the bar of 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, to 347.2 cases. It stood at 243.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (France: 231.3) on November 26, against another 134.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on November 19. The most significant increases were recorded in the Ardennes (403.3) as well as in the Haut-Rhin and the Bas-Rhin with respective rates of 493.3 (333.7 on D-7) and 492 (296, 7). Faced with this viral runaway in Alsace, the hospitals of Mulhouse and Strasbourg quickly went into a blank plan.

In Lorraine, Moselle was in second place last week with an incidence rate of 324.4 (241.8). It was doubled by Meurthe-et-Moselle whose incidence rate reached 345 (236.9). The other departments have passed the 200 threshold.

As for health establishments, 900 people (664 to D-7) were hospitalized for an infection by the coronavirus on December 2 and 163 patients were treated there in intensive care or intensive care. Regarding the vaccination profile of these patients, the Nancy CHRU specified in its health bulletin of November 30 that more than 90% of its admissions were unvaccinated people or who had received only one dose of vaccine. The hospital then identified fifteen Covid patients (14 to D-7) in intensive care out of thirty-five hospitalized, while they were thirty-seven on November 23.
