A danger to the teeth

The citric acid in lemons can damage tooth enamel. Consumed daily, the acid can sensitize our teeth. And the situation becomes more complicated for people who already have tooth sensitivity. We must also not overlook that citric acid can cause burns in the stomach area.

And now another clarification. Even though lemon juice isn’t bad for you, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good, says Marijn Peters.

“There is no evidence that lemon water – morning or otherwise – stimulates digestion or metabolism. And contrary to what some magazine articles claim, lemon water does not provide an energy boost. What’s the bottom line? Feel free to take the second lemon and squeeze it into the water, but don’t expect a body detox”
