My letter to Trzaskowski is false

The Polish Nobel Prize winner issued a statement regarding the alleged letter to be written to the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski. It turns out that the whole thing is fake news.

“I would like to inform you that the« letter »circulating in social media to Rafał Trzaskowski is a fake, which does not come from me. I am asking you not to disseminate it and, where possible, to inform the sharers that it is a pipe,” reads Olga Tokarczuk in the post on Facebook.

On July 10, Trzaskowski met the writer, which he reported on Twitter. “It is an honor and pleasure to meet a person whom so far she met mainly through her fantastic books. Thank you to our Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk for meeting, talking, and above all for hours spent with great reading” – wrote the President of Warsaw and the candidate of KO for the President of the Republic of Poland.

In October 2019, Olga Tokarczuk received the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Austrian, Peter Handke, was honored with the Polish woman. The prize is 9 million Swedish crowns, or about 3.5 million PLN.

Tokarczuk is the fifth Polish writer honored with the Nobel Prize. She joined the group of: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Władysław Reymont, Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska.
