Musicians can register for the Junge Philharmonie

During the autumn break, the Department of Culture of the City of Würzburg is again offering a workshop for young musicians between the ages of 14 and 26. Due to Corona, the 26th project phase of the Junge Philharmonie will be a little different this year, according to the city’s press release. Since the number of participants has to be limited in view of the currently applicable hygiene requirements, the large orchestra is divided into three formations: strings, woodwinds and brass. The individual ensembles will rehearse half a day.

The workshop is free of charge for all participants. The 26th project phase of the Junge Philharmonie Würzburg starts in the autumn holidays on Monday, November 2nd and ends on Friday, November 6th. The musical direction is in the hands of Frédéric Tschumi.

On the program for the string ensemble are Edward Elgar with the Serenade in E minor, op. 20 and Benjamin Britten with the “Simple symphony”. The woodwinds can look forward to Antonin Dvorák’s Serenade in D minor, op.44, with three horns, a cello and a double bass. Chris Hazell’s “Play for a play” is planned for the brass ensemble.

Under www.junge-philharmonie-wuerzburg.de there is the registration form and information about the Junge Philharmonie Würzburg. You can register by Wednesday, September 30th at the latest by sending an informal email to: [email protected]
