Music: Singuila’s word-images

The singer gave a writing workshop on February 17 at the French Institute in Douala, as part of the presentation of his new album, “Doctor Love”.

“I write in images and I pose the sensations (…) I look for strong images (…) I love cinema so much that I absolutely have to tell a story (…) I like to tell, I always have loved the artists who tell. In Africa, we have a lot of storytellers (…) You have to find the right word with the right style. From the word you choose, we will determine your personality. When you write, it’s a signature. There is an identity, a paw that you are looking for (…) When I write a song, I put myself in a precise state and I look for the words that correspond to it (…) I am always inspired by someone I know and we find his features in the sense of humor, the turn of a sentence. Music is good, it’s harmonious, but people like to feel represented. “
